For their small courtyard in Balmain, the owners wanted to maximize the limited space they had and be able to use it as a dual function area – a courtyard for entertaining and a carpark when not in use. We laid sawn bluestone tiles with a cobbled edge to border the tiled area from the feature garden. We planted Magnolia ‘teddy bears’ with a Senaki Maple as the feature tree. The bluestone tiling really contrasts well with the drystacked sandstone retaining wall. New boundary fences were also installed along both sides of the property.
